1. Review admission requirements
-
Upper Division Transfer Student Requirements — Students have completed a minimum of 60 or more semester transferable units or 90 or more quarter units
- Lower Division Transfer Student Requirements — Students have completed fewer than 60 semester transferable units or 90 quarter units and have completed A2: Written Communication and B4: Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning.
2. Submit your application
- Review the Important Dates and Deadlines for transfer students and submit your application by the deadline.
- Complete your upper or lower division transfer student requirements on time.
- To begin classes in the Spring semester, your requirements must be completed in the previous Fall semester.
- To begin classes in the Fall semester, your requirements must be completed by the end of Spring semester. (Summer coursework may be considered if final transcripts are submitted by the deadline.)
- If you have not completed all of the admission requirements by the required deadline, there's a high chance your application will be denied. Once denied, students will have the opportunity to submit an admission appeal requesting an exception to be made. Admission appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and it is not guaranteed your case will be approved.
- Submit your Cal State Apply application.
- Pay a $70 Application Fee or Request a Waiver
-
-
When you apply for admission to the CSU through Cal State Apply you are automatically considered for an application fee waiver based on the information requested in the application. You must fully complete the application before the fee waiver eligibility is determined.
-
If you or your family have experienced a significant change in income, you may qualify for an application fee waiver appeal. Please complete the Application Fee Waiver Request Form and include the CSU Application Fee Waiver form located on the bottom of the webpage along with supporting documentation. Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their fee waiver request via email they included in the fee waiver application form. If approved, the applicant will receive an application fee waiver code to use when submitting their application. If denied, the applicant will receive a denial notification. Please note: There is no appeal process for denied application fee waiver requests.
